 How To Setup Your Email Client

(Microsoft Outlook Express specific, however most settings can be used for other clients)

  • Open Outlook Express
  • Go to 'Tools'
  • Select 'Accounts'
  • Click on the 'Mail' tab
  • Click on 'Add'
  • Choose 'Mail'
  • Type in display name (Name you want people to see when they get an email from you) and click 'Next'
  • Enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com) and click 'Next'
  • Incoming mail: pop3.pinncom.com (all lower case)
  • Outgoing mail: mail.pinncom.com (all lower case)
  • Click 'Next'
  • For account name, enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com)
  • Enter your password and click 'Next'
  • Click 'Finish'
  • You should now be back at the 'Internet Accounts' Screen. Highlight your new email account by clicking on it one (1) time.
  • Click on the 'Set to Default' button on the right side.
  • Close the 'Internet Accounts' Screen

You will need to shutdown and reopen your client for the changes to take effect.

For Microsoft Windows Mail (included with Windows Vista):

  • Open Windows Mail
  • Go to 'Tools'
  • Select 'Accounts'
  • Click on 'Add'
  • Select 'E-mail Account', and click 'Next'
  • Type in display name (the name you want people to see when they get an e-mail from you) and click 'Next'
  • Enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com) and click 'Next'
  • Incoming mail: pop3.pinncom.com (all lower case)
  • Outgoing mail: mail.pinncom.com (all lower case)
  • Click 'Next'
  • For e-mail username, enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com)
  • Enter your password and click 'Next'
  • Click 'Finish'
  • Close the 'Internets Accounts' screen 

For Microsoft Outlook 2003: 

  • Open Outlook 
  • Go to 'Tools'
  • Select 'E-mail Accounts'
  • Select 'Add a new e-mail account', and then click 'Next'
  • Choose 'POP3', and click 'Next'
  • For 'Your Name', enter the name you want people to see when they get and email from you
  • For 'E-mail Address' and 'User Name', enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com)
  • Enter your password in the 'Password' block
  • Under 'Server Information', incoming mail server is pop3.pinncom.com and outgoing mail server is mail.pinncom.com (all lower case for both)
  • Cliick 'Test Account Settings' to confirm the information, then 'Close' the test box
  • Click 'Next', then click 'Finish'

For Microsoft Outlook 2007:

  • Open Outlook 
  • Go to 'Tools'
  • Select 'Account Settings'
  • On the 'E-mail' tab, click 'New...'
  • Select 'Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP' and click 'Next'
  • For 'Your Name', enter the name you want people to see when they get and email from you
  • For 'E-mail Address', enter your full e-mail address (for example, username@pinncom.com)
  • Enter your password in both the 'Password' and 'Retype Password' blocks
  • Click 'Next'
  • The system will now configure your settings.  You will get a message saying 'An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available.'  This message is a normal part of the configuration process - click 'Next'
  • The system will now finish configuration and send a test message.  You will get a message that says 'Your POP3 e-mail account is successfully configured.'
  • Click 'Finish', and then 'Close'
